4-22-08...I have failed miserably at keeping my website up. I have all the excuses in the world but won't bore you with them. I have just been plain busy...thanks to you all...my wonderful customers. I want you to know, that I appreciate each and every one of you...from the bottom, top and middle of my heart. I really can't thank you all enough. I had considered taking a job outside of the home, for insurance reasons but have decided against it, for the time being. If I can stay as busy as I have been these last couple of months, everything should be okay. I have some new Sterling beads in....my favorites! I finally found them. I will get them pictured and loaded up on the website this week. I have a show coming up in two weeks...so I'm excited about that. It will be my third year at this show and it has grown tremendously from its first year...I'm glad to be a part of it. I have also been busy with the horses. Wind Dahncer did his first endurance ride (15 mile fun ride) and out of 13 riders, we came in 7th. Not too bad for his first ride. We will do our first limited distance, 25 mile ride next month! Wish us luck. Oh and my computer has been on the fritz. It finally died and they replaced it with a new one. Anyone else have trouble learning Vista? I really don't like change anymore. Same old, same old is really comfortable to me! Anyone else??? Well, hopefully, it won't be as long for an update from me. Take care all....and until next time many blessings!
12-1-07...Well, it's December 1st and Christmas is right aruond the corner. I really need to do more shopping but I can't stand the thought of going out on a weekend and fighting the crowds. If it doesn't rain here, it just might be a good horsie day. Get everyone out, get them groomed and maybe go for a ride. I have decided to ride Huck in Leatherwood race in March and see how his leg holds up. We went on a 7 hour ride a couple of weeks ago and he did really well. No swelling, no lameness and he could have gone another 7 hours. That horse has a LOT of heart and plenty of go.
I am going to be listing some new boro bead sets tonight on eBay...go check it out:) I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
6-13-08.....sheesh, it's been awhile, huh? The kids are out for summer now, lol. We don't have any big plans, just chill'in and relaxing. We went to the beach to see family and had a great time.
Huck and I finished the Leatherwood ride, unfortunately, he pulled his suspensory ligament and he is now on 4 months rest:( He will no longer be able to do endurance riding. He's just too high of a stepper and has too much leg action. He wastes a lot of energy when it needs to be saved for the ride. He'll be okay though and still be able to either be a show horse or a trail horse. He's such a sweetie. I do have a new baby, named Indy. He's a full Egyptian Arabian, just turned 3, so he's not broke yet. We are dealing with a bone chip, in his back leg right now. We aren't sure where he got hurt, or how he got hurt, we just hope he gets better. Right now, he is on stall rest and NOT liking it. He wants to romp and play with the others.
I am having a hysterectomy this Friday, so I'm not looking forward to that. I am going to try and get some auctions up and running before Friday but won't be able to asnwer questions until probably Sunday. Until next time...be happy and be well:)
4-12-04...We are still on spring break this week and the kids will go back to school on Monday! Whew, what a week it's been. I MUST be getting old...changing of schedules stresses me out, lol. We had a great visit from Heather and Emma. Maggie was so happy to see Emma (me too) and I don't think they got enough of each other. We need to make a trip down to see them soon. All orders have gone out...sorry for the delay. Huck and I have another ride this Saturday at a place called Leatherwood Mountains....it's sooo beautiful up there. Now, mountain riding he CAN do! Wish us luck. I finally got around to getting more auctions up and also have some new beads in the works....they are sooo cool. I can't wait to show everyone. Until next time....be happy, be well:)
3-22-07...Well, Huck and I got pulled from the race....ugh! It was our first pull and I do have to admit, I rode him a bit harder than I should have and after 19 miles, he was a bit "off" on the left rear, at the vet hold. It was VERY sandy and there's just no place to train around here for the sand. They say you can sand train for the mountains but you can't mountain train for the sand. So...I don't know that we will be doing that ride again. Our next ride will be in Leatherwood Mountains (we've been there, done that before) on April 14th. He's rested and ready to go! I have some new beads listed in my ebay store that match all of my scroll beads. I have been meaning to get these beads made for awhile, I just haven't had the time. I hope you enjoy them:) Have a great day everyone!
3-15-07...Ummm, where DOES the time go??? Just a short update to say that I will be out of town, for an endurance ride from Thursday-Sunday....I am SO excited and nervous...I cannot wait!!! We have spent hours and hours getting ready for this ride. Please say some prayers and wish us luck during the ride. Thanks everyone:)
1-18-07...can I just say....I have THE most wonderful customers....thank you ALL SO VERY much! The support, encouragement and trust you put in me....well, it's VERY heartwarming and it's the reason I'm still doing this...you ALL make it totally worth while :) I'm still busy with custom orders, I have new jewelry to photograph and put up and I will be making some bright colored beads in the near future. I have had a set made for a couple of weeks. I promise to get them up tonight! Be happy everyone!
1-11-07...Trying to get back to some sort of normal schedule around here...not an easy thing to do. Harry has taken another full time job, at Home Depot working 3rd shift. We REALLY need the insurance...isn't he a GREAT hubby and daddy? I'm cleaning my studio, getting rid of stuff that I don't need or use. I'll be back soon....12-27-06...Well, Christmas is over :( I don't know if anyone else goes through this or not but I get so sappy after the Holidays. I gear up and go so much, during the month of Dec., that once it's over, I actually MISS the hustle and bustle of it all. I know that I should just sit back and relax and enjoy the kids and the animals and take it easy. I WILL try this year. I will also try to keep up with my website better...that's a promise. Okay, I DO have some news!!! My oldest went on a trip to the Cayman Islands this year for Christmas. It was our first EVER without ALL of the kiddos here BUT...he gave Brantley a ring! They are getting married! Brantley is still in college and has a year left. I think they will set the date for some time in 08. Everyone is SO excited! They have been dating since the beginning of their junior year and have been together ever since.
2-11-2006....Well, my website is sure buzzing right along. It has been quite a task but it has been really fun to build it and get it going. Over the next few weeks, I hope to be adding a LOT more findings, beads and finished jewelry. Life has been pretty busy here. Cody is getting ready to start baseball soon, Maggie wants to take some dance and well, I've been pretty much glued to this seat for the last coupde of weeks, lol. I have totally neglected my horse, Huck...I wonder if he still remembers me??? I'm sure he does, I just feel very guilty. Awwww, I can't WAIT for spring:) Until next time...thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again soon!
12-17-05....I am finally getting around to updating my website. I have been so busy with shows and custom orders, I have totally neglected this part of my business. You will see some changes going on over the next few days and hopefully, things will be up and runnning smoothly in no time. I have two students lined up to teach in Janurary, so that should be fun! We have some Christmas parties and kids programs to attend today and over the weekend. I can't wait to see little Maggie up there, in her Christmas attire singing "Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer"! She's been practicing over and over and over...well, you get the idea. She's very excited too:) Have a look around and if you have any suggestions or would like to see something in particular, don't hesitate to let me know. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
6-3-05....I cannot believe I haven't written anything since March! Wow, time really DOES fly! It's not that I haven't had anything to say it's just that everyday life get's sooo busy sometimes. Let's see, Brendon graduated from high school a couple of weeks ago, the kids got out of school, we got a new German Shepherd puppy (Kyja) OH and I got a new horse! His name is Falcons Poco Gin, also known as Spirit. He is a Liver Chestnut with a dark mane and tail. He is only 3 and NOT broke...umm, did I say he's not broke? lol This ought to be fun! I would like to take this time and thank all of my customers for their support on eBay who have purchased all the Pandora bracelets and beads. You make all of this worth while! Your are all the BEST! I promise...I'll be back sooner NOT later:)
3-11-05....Well, I KNOW that I said I wan't going to do the Atkins diet but I changed my mind. I started it three days ago. I am the kind of person that NEEDS instant results and Atkins pretty much gives me that. I just need to be a little more creative than the everyday eggs and bacon to keep me from getting so bored. In three days, I have dropped 2.5 lbs. (probably most of it's water but ehy, it's 2.5 lbs) so that's not too bad plus it keeps the motivation going. I have not cheated once and hope I can keep on the right track. Another "sore" subject...constipation, ugh. If you have that problem too, just use some benefiber in a cup of water, daily. I can't believe how tasteless, gritless and orderless it is. You really won't know that it's in there! Makes it MUCH more enjoyable to get your daily fiber intake:) Until next time.....
3-7-05....Okay, I thought it was time for a little update. Not much going on really:) I can't believe I said that but it's true. Today is my elsest son's birthday and he is 19! Wow, it really DOES go by soo fast:( Happy birthday Jordy! This is the first time, in his life, that I won't see him on his birthday:( He's at school, so I will have to wait to give him his birthday hugs next Sunday, when he comes home for spring break. I get to hug him everyday for a WEEK!!! YAY!!!!
Oh, something else I want to talk about...weight! YUCK! I really hate that word but it's something we all, well, most of us, have to face. I need to lose about 50 lbs. OUCH! I am starting my diet today and when I say diet, I really mean just changing the way I eat. I thought about going on the Atkins diet but I can't STAND the thought of eating eggs and bacon for breakfast for the next 5-6 mos. So, what I thought I'd do is, just watch what I put in my trap, get a bit of exercise and see how that goes. I will "try" to update my progress...anyone out there want to do this with me? It's so much easier with a buddy...anyone???
2-21-05....Well, it's Sunday now and I haven't written anything in about a week. I promise to do better, even if it's just a quick hey! This weekend, for ONCE, has been kinda quiet. Brendon went down to Coastal Carolina to visit, where he hopes to be going to college this fall and spend some time with his brother. Of course, he took his g./f too, lol as she is going there in the fall also. What IS it these days about going to the same college you g/f or b/f is going. My oldest goes with his g/f from high school also. To be honest, we are secretly hoping those two will definitely get married one day!
Cody and Maggie have been rather quiet this weekend, no antics to tell:( We are planning a b-day party for Cody, which is Wed at Sports Warehouse...nothing like the last minute! Does EVERYONE live their lives like this??? hehe
Bye for now:)
Hi and thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read and view my little piece of internet heaven. I have always loved design and color, even if I can NEVER find the right pair of shoes to wear with an outfit, lol. That's why you can never go wrong with a good ole pair of Burkies. I love to design and make all of my jewelry from start to finish. I wirewrap anything and everything I can get my hands on. I also make all of my glass beads you see in my designs. If you want something custom made, just shoot me an email and we can come up with something brilliant together.
My name is Krissa and I am married to Harry, hmmm for about 18 yrs. now...yikes. That's a looong time, lol. We have four children: Jordan-19, Brendon-17, Cody-7 and Princess Maggie-2. Our oldest just went off to college last year and our youngest isn't even in school yet. Life is a T-R-I-P around here, always a hustle and bustle atmoshpere. When we DO slow down, which is hardly never, we love to spend some time at the beach, relaxing and playing in the pool and just hanging out.
I will try to write a little something on a daily basis but make no promises. Princess Maggie and her antics, I promise, will make you laugh and LOL constantly. Just like, a few seconds ago, it got reeeally quiet (that always means trouble) and when I went to see what she was up too, she was covered in chocolate, even had it in her hair and she was just pleased as punch to have just gobbled down a whole Hershey's chocolate bar. How can you get mad at that! She keeps me hopping:)
